Job Summary

Interviewing Immediately – Territory Sales Representative – Mid-Atlantic Region (Delaware; Maryland; New York; New Jersey; Pennsylvania, Virginia

Our client is the leading manufacturer of industrial deep cycle and SLI batteries and the world leader in energy efficient chargers for all types of material handling applications and they are looking to add a Regional Sales Manager located in the Mid-Atlantic region to join their highly compensated sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating sales from new customers and maintaining existing business within the assigned sales territory. Additional responsibilities include:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
•             Directly identifies, qualifies, and opens new accounts
•             Makes joint calls with authorized channel representatives to develop and secure new business
•             Manages activities to maintain and retain existing business within the assigned territory
•             Assists in training authorized channel representative’s sales personnel
•             Supports the national accounts effort for opportunities within their territory            
•             Provides input about market and territory trends and meets annual territory sales goals
•             Acts as a liaison between the sales territory and our client’s manufacturing operations
•             Assists management with long-range territory planning: monthly, quarterly, annual, and other forecasts
•             Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of our client’s Quality System and how it relates to this position and our client’s quality objectives

ACCOUNTABILITY:           Reports to Director of Sales

COMPENTENCIES:           Demonstrated sales success (specifically in opening new accounts and in some form of technical sales); sales territory organization; and sales forecasting
 
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 
•             2- or 4-year degree
•             5 years outside sales experience in a relevant automotive, heavy-duty, or diesel parts industry, preferred
•             Safety training – ability to complete and follow company-administered safety training program
•             Valid driver’s license
•             Able to pass a background check and drug screening
•             Position requires extensive travel and market planning
•             Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
 
Our client offers a competitive salary of $100,000 and a generous commission and bonus program that will yield a realistic first-year total compensation in the $135,000 - $150,000 range.
