Job Summary
Stockton University seeks a Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) to lead the university’s strategic enrollment initiatives and advance student recruitment, retention, and success. Reporting directly to the President, the VPEM is a key member of the President’s Cabinet and collaborates closely with the Provost and other university leaders across divisions such as Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Finance, and Advancement.
The VPEM oversees a team of about 130 staff, including directors of Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, and College Bound/GEAR UP. The role focuses on creating a strategic, data-informed enrollment plan, strengthening operations, and enhancing student-centered services.

Developing and executing a comprehensive enrollment management strategy.
Leading admissions and financial aid operations.
Using data analytics to guide decisions on recruitment and retention.
Fostering collaboration and excellence across the university.
Managing budgets, personnel, and enrollment technologies.

Responsibilities
Build capacity and lead innovation in marketing, recruitment, admissions, and technology to align with the university’s strategic goals and enrollment targets.
Develop and execute a comprehensive, data-driven enrollment management plan that includes recruitment, retention, financial aid optimization, and net revenue forecasting.
Use data analytics, predictive modeling, and behavior tracking to guide strategies and improve performance across the student enrollment lifecycle.
Partner with the Provost, Deans, faculty, and staff to enhance student retention, graduation rates, academic scheduling, and partnerships with P–12 schools and community colleges.
Align enrollment and student experience initiatives with emerging academic programs and Stockton’s institutional strategic plan.
Continuously improve student engagement and service quality throughout the admissions, financial aid, advising, and onboarding processes.
Work with the Senior VP for Administration and Finance to connect recruitment, retention, and financial aid strategies with the university’s long-term fiscal sustainability.
Oversee and refine marketing strategies across digital, print, and social platforms using research-based approaches and partnership with internal and external teams.
Enhance communication and engagement with students and families through current and emerging technologies, leveraging the Slate® CRM for data-informed outreach.
Serve as a visible ambassador for Stockton, promoting its mission and student-centered values to prospective students, families, schools, community partners, alumni, and at regional and national higher education events.
Required Skills
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, or related field required.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership, Higher Education Policy, or related discipline preferred.
Proven record of collaborative, transparent leadership with senior university leaders, faculty, staff, and trustees.
Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, foster open communication, and model authenticity and respect.
Experience inspiring change, building consensus, and making strategic, independent decisions when necessary.
Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership in higher education, ideally in enrollment management; at least three years in senior leadership preferred.
Experience in institutions of comparable size and complexity; familiarity with collective bargaining environments preferred.
Strong background in enrollment management, admissions, financial aid, marketing, and student recruitment across diverse populations (undergraduate, graduate, transfer, international, nontraditional).
Skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and linking expenditures to measurable outcomes.
Success in addressing enrollment challenges, using data-driven modeling, forecasting, and analysis to meet institutional goals.
Experience with higher education branding, market analysis, and adapting to changing demographic and market trends.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
